House of Rainbows
An open plan at the kitchen and dining area allows food preparation as a spectacle where the guests are entertained and engaged in conversations with the host. Seamless circulation with ample manoeuvring space for wheelchair transfer and movements are well integrated in the layout.
Ergonomic considerations for the abled and the enabled include knee space allowance and comfortable access and reach at various heights to cater for the needs of both. Carpentry pull-out and pull-down mechanisms and voice activated home automation are introduced to create convenience and ease.
Dichroic glass is used to create coloured rainbow rays as ambient lighting which changes with time of the day. Translucency provides screening to areas which require privacy and hide-away of clutter. Blurry silhouettes and peekaboos add a touch of playfulness.
Home owners’ love for cats and going with their belief ‘Happy cats; happy life’, ledges are integrated as a feature wall and back drop to the dining area where no meal shall be dull again with the felines.
An inclusive characteristic design inspired by home owners’ lifestyle and ethos, empowering the able and the enabled.
